From Nova Peč (where the Moldau reservoir begins) I drove along the Moldau to the Haidmühle border crossing. The return journey was partly along the Schwarzenberg canal back to Nova Peč. The tour leads through the unique nature of the Šumava National Park. The area is an impressive natural paradise with well-marked cycling and hiking trails.
