Having gotten out of bed late, we set off for Novara Castle, the famous Visconti-Sforza fortress, eager to explore it. Here's a glimpse in pictures.

One last destination before we head back home. Spending a couple of days checking out Novara and tracking down the local eats. Try their Paniscia, a risotto with beans, and also their biscottini di Novare, deep in coffee or in a sweet wine. Enjoy 😉

Arriving at Cremona, and after a short rest, we went to visit the city center, with lots of activities. Here are some pictures of their cathedral and magnificent buildings.

Leaving Lucca to reach Cremona, we made a slight detour via Piacenza, just enough time for a short visit and to refuel.

The wild beauty of these coastal paths is well worth the effort. However, as soon as you cross over to the more civilized side, where profit has replaced nature, the scene becomes distressing. But what compels people to crowd together like sardines? The question remains unanswered.

The day started off well. However, after seven kilometers and up to the entrance of the village of Pontasserchio, the path proved particularly unpleasant. Fortunately, the return journey was much more enjoyable.

A magnificent city, renowned for its superb historic ramparts that delight walkers, runners, and cyclists.
Its heritage is remarkable, with an impressive number of churches and monasteries.
Just 650 meters from the city center, on the other side of the railway line, stands a splendid, remarkably well-preserved 4-kilometer aqueduct.
