"The Cheile Tătarului is a natural reserve, in the Gutâi Mountains, located on the territory of Mara village, Desești commune, in Maramureș county. This tourist attraction was included in the -III- category of the National Union of Nature Conservation. The Cheile Tătarului stretch on an area of 15 hectares and the gorges themselves are 700 meters high. They represent a gorge, formed by Igniș-Mara, in pyroxenic andesites. The two slopes are different, one being covered by forests and the other, rocky and vertical. Cheile Tătarului nature reserve is declared a protected area, by Law no. 5/6 March 2000. A wonderful summit for an all-round view. The ascent from Blidari is easily accessible by bus and takes about 3 hours. Less frequented than Rooster Creature, offers a superb panorama. In some areas, junks have grown on the pavement, long pants help to avoid scratches. Generally, it is more exposed to the wind than Rooster's Creature, some wind-protective clothing helps.

A classic weekend route in the area, you will not miss people to greet :) Easy ride, at least until the last part, which is quite steep but relatively short. There is generally no water on the route (there are springs but rarely enough flow).
