The victory had a huge resonance in Britain and helped make the Duke of Marlborough famous to this day. Several streets, buildings and even 5 warships over the centuries were called "Ramillies".

In the Netherlands, the battle and Hendrik van Nassau-Ouwerkerk is almost forgotten, which can be called strange. After all, the share of the Dutch in the victory was at least as large as the British. Moreover, with this battle an important war objective - to expel the French from the Spanish Netherlands - was achieved.

The Battle of Ramillies, was fought on May 23, 1706 between French-Bavarian troops on the one hand and British-Dutch-Danish troops on the other. The battle became a resounding victory for the second party. The British troops were led by the Duke of Marlborough, the Dutch by Hendrik van Nassau-Ouwerkerk. The Allied army under the general leadership of Marlborough managed to recapture the vast majority of the Spanish Netherlands from the French in a short time.
