Herzfelde Castle in the town of the same name in Brandenburg is a former manor that dates back to the Middle Ages. It was first mentioned in 1375, when the estate belonged to Ritter Henning von Berlyn. The estate itself was probably founded more than 100 years earlier by the von Herzfelde noble family. There was already a manor house at that time, the dimensions of which are not known. It is unclear when the castle building as it still exists today was built. After the Second World War, the former owners were expropriated and the castle fell into disrepair over the coming decades. It was only after the fall of the Berlin Wall in 1994 that it was bought and restored by a company from Berlin

Kröchlendorff Castle was built in 1848 by Prussia's first freelance architect Eduard Knoblauch on behalf of Baron Oskar von Arnim. The castle is surrounded by a beautiful park. The first gardens were laid out around 1700 and were expanded and redesigned in the course of building the castle according to the ideas of the landscape designer Peter Joseph Lenné. Adapted from Lenné Park, the architect Knoblauch designed the castle in the English Gothic style. The Kröchlendorff Castle Church was built between 1864 and 1868 according to plans by Ferdinand von Arnim and was then used as an Evangelical Reformed church. The members of the von Arnim family buried in the crypt, including Malwine von Arnim (1827–1908), Otto von Bismarck's sister, were reburied in the neighboring cemetery after the family was expropriated in 1950. The castle park on the island is practically non-existent. The entrance to the museum (entrance fee 1 euro) is in the inner courtyard area.

Boitzenburg Castle is probably one of the most famous castles in the Uckermark. You can go for a walk in the park and get to eg. To the Temple of Apollo or to the old burial site of the Boitzenburg family. The castle itself is located directly on a lake with a bathing area. Opposite is the Marstall with a café, chocolate factory and its own brewery.

Hello my love, at the weekend (27.5.22) I visited the park and the hereditary burial. The park is - as often described - overgrown, which is what makes it so special. When the weather is warm and humid, the park offers something mystical. Nightingales accompany you on enchanted paths. Definitely recommendable!

The castle is surrounded by a beautiful landscaped park created around 1840 by the well-known garden architect Peter Joseph Lenné. The Marstall opposite belongs to the former property of von Arnims. Today, in addition to a chocolate factory, it also houses a show bakery and coffee roasting plant and is used as an event center.
