Lots of snow in mid may on the trail, some snow shoes would have been helpful. But the half frozen lake was worth it!

Is Mallard Lake suitable for winter hiking or early spring visits?

Visiting Mallard Lake in winter or early spring can be challenging. Hikers have reported significant snow on the trail even in mid-May, suggesting that snowshoes could be beneficial.
