Barton Broad's alder carr woodland would be inaccessible to walkers but for an excellent boardwalk that leads to a fine viewpoint across the water. Users of this broad are following in no lesser footsteps than those of Lord Horatio Nelson, who started his sailing here, long before Trafalgar.
