The Schee station was opened in 1886 on the railway line Wuppertal - Wichlinghausen - Hattingen, approximately at the highest point of the route. The monument was often used as a backdrop for film and television recordings.

In the area of the "train station" Schee is a sign to a restaurant. Neither is the distance indication to the restaurant, which is a styled golf hotel with appropriate clientele prices, nor is this due to the food quality recommended. The best indication is that of about 50 tables only 2 were occupied at lunchtime! But who loves the atmosphere, that does not matter.
