On the first look it seems to be a unspectacular waterfall - but as the water runs down a rockslide for about 100 ft or so and ends in a shallow pool with a bank of sand it makes for a better experience than some of the larger waterfalls nearby. I highly recommend to make it an out and back from Mac’s Gap Trail instead of approaching it from Deep Gap Trail or Wilderness Falls Trail because these two are basically not blazed, very muddy, heavily overgrown, have a lot of spur/side trails and without App/GPS do have segments that are hard to navigate because of this. Furthermore you would need to cross the creek through knee deep water.

Short, steep path from the visitor center parking lot to the lookout point with a magnificent view. It's worth it!

One of the best places to enjoy the panoramic views of the Panthertown Valley is the Salt Rock Overlook. This scenic spot is located at the end of a short spur trail that branches off from the main Panthertown Valley Trail. From here, you can see the granite domes, the mountain bogs, and the winding streams that make this area so unique and diverse. You can also spot some of the waterfalls that are accessible by other trails in the valley, such as Wilderness Falls and Frolictown Falls. The Salt Rock Overlook is a great place to relax, have a picnic, or watch the sunset over the mountains.

The Bunches Bald Overlook is situated at Milepost 459.5 on the Blue Ridge Parkway. Even though the word "bald" is in the name, the viewpoint isn't situated on a bald, nor does it look out towards a bald. There are still a bunch of different mountain peaks, ridges, and valleys to be seen from here. There is also a cool tunnel that you get to bike through on the parkway just a few hundred feet north of here.

The Big Witch Overlook (Milepost 461.9) is a popular stop on the Blue Ridge Parkway. It peers out at a couple long mountain ridges that block any views of mountains further behind. If pedaling uphill, you really start to notice the elevation gain around this area, as this viewpoint tops out at 4,160 feet.

At an elevation of 6,053 feet and located at Milepost 431.4, Richland Balsam Overlook is the highest point on the Blue Ridge Parkway. The views from the overlook are spectacular and draw a crowd. The views are of Nantahala National Forest and the surrounding peaks and valleys.

Soco Falls is a prized possession of Maggie Valley. The twin waterfalls create a photo-worthy destination with a viewing platform just short of the falls. The trail down to them can be dicey when wet, so take your time and use the ropes provided if you need to. The falls are a popular spot for those traveling on the Blue Ridge Parkway. There is a turn at Soco Gap at Milepost 455.7, and a parking lot about 1.5 miles to the south serves as the trailhead for the short trail to the falls.

The Mountains-to-Sea Trail is one of the longest trails in the country (1,175 miles). It spends a decent amount of miles following along with the Blue Ridge Parkway while passing through North Carolina. This particular section from Scott Creek Overlook to Woodfin Cascades Overlook is slightly downhill the entire time in one direction and slightly uphill the entire time in the other direction. You are basically walking through a jungle of trees on a well-kept path the entire time.
